Hello, this is the website of Edible Estates. We are currently remodelling the website since we split off the Growing Together project. Growing Together is an initiative which Edible Estates co-ordinates on behalf of City of Edinburgh Council to support community gardening in council estates, you can find it here.
On this site we will be showcasing the work of Edible Estates, particularly the gardens we have built and the range of other services and ideas we have developed.

An initiative supporting young people to gain skills in horticulture, joinery and landscaping.
Community Growing
Community Growing projects grow food for their local community often across multiple small sites. The food is shared at community meals and/or channeled community benefit such as local food banks.
School Farm
The School Farm initiative provide a great experience for the teachers and pupils, getting them outdoors into the school grounds to grow food, build things, work together and learn.

Working with residents to transform the Backgreens behind their tenements into community growing spaces.
Estate Wide Growing
Bringing neighbourhood residents together to make positive changes to their greenspaces. Creating estate wide infrastructure for food growing and biodiversity.

FEATURED PROJECT
The Greenway Neighbourhood Garden
The Greenway Garden in Wester Hailes is one of our largest gardens. It serves the community of Dumbryden, Murrayburn & Hailesland. It has over 70 growing beds, has a well-being activities programme and grows food for it’s local food pantry.
Dumbiedykes Greenspace
Residents of Dumbiedykes are thinking about their greenspace and how it can be best used for community growing.
Mount Lodge Place
A once locked greenspace is now an area for wildlife and community thanks to the residents who live around it.
Lochend Secret Garden
Growing spaces for 50 local residents equipped with tool shed, poly tunnel and hand-built pizza oven!
Broomhouse Growers
A group of Broomhouse residents run a market garden by and for people of Broomhouse.
